Why am I launching this?
I wanted to start logging our sibling trips. After each trip, I noticed our family and friends are eager to hear our humorous family moments and obtain a rare insight on our unique dynamic as three siblings with significant age gaps. I’m eight years older than my sister and twelve years older than my brother.
How did these trips start?
Three generations ago, our great grandmother told her sons (my grandfather and his brothers) they needed to continue having yearly family reunions to strengthen family bond across future generations and bring relatives together. Our dad encouraged all three of us to start a similar tradition to keep us together despite each of us finding ourselves in different chapters of our lives. As a former Peace Corp volunteer, our dad believes that traveling exposes us to the world and promotes a cultural understanding of other cultures.
Our first trip was in 2024, to Japan. Last year, we visited Ireland. This year, we’re traveling to China.
Who are we in the sibling dynamic?
My sister needs something to look forward to, an escape, from working Audit & Assurance at a Big Four firm. She is in charge of the logistics. She scours the internet booking flights for the overall best value, making expense spreadsheets, and meticulous hour-by-hour itineraries.
My brother has a new personality unlocked each time we travel. He is outgoing and adventurous. His role is to select our hotel accommodations. Most importantly, he is the self-proclaimed peace-maker of the group.
I personally am thrilled at the idea of having uninterrupted “me-time”, spending countless hours reading on a plane. Once we arrive to our destination, I lead the group despite being fearful of big crowds.
What brought us together?
Our parents deliberately promoted developing our relationships. We built connection when we lived together at our family home. It was a training ground for how we would interact with the outside world.

A big thank you for anyone who has subscribed. I’m excited to share our tradition with everyone. I’ll be posting every Tuesday and Thursday.
